CH Fume Cupboard Services

The people you actually speak to are the people who test your cupboards

CH Fume Cupboard Services is an independent specialist based in Formby, Liverpool, working with laboratories the length of the UK. No sales team between you and the engineer, and no upsell dressed up as compliance.

Compliance paperwork should tell you the truth about your lab

Too many laboratories hold a folder of certificates that nobody has read, covering cupboards nobody has properly measured. Meanwhile a technician quietly knows which unit “doesn’t pull as well as it used to”, and a head of department is asked to approve a replacement budget with no evidence behind it.

We started CH Fume Cupboard Services to fix that gap. Every fume cupboard we test gets real measurements, photographs, a plain-English verdict and a ranked list of what to do next. If a unit passes, you can prove it. If it fails, you know exactly why, what the fix costs, and whether it is worth doing.

We install and sell fume cupboards, but we are not tied to selling you one. Roughly half the assessments we carry out end with “service it, don’t replace it” — and that is why estates teams keep calling us back when there genuinely is a case for replacement.

A school science block cannot lose a prep room in week three of term. A pathology lab cannot pause for a convenient site visit. We schedule around that reality: holidays, shutdowns, evenings and weekends, agreed when we quote.

How we work

Four commitments we hold to on every job

These are the things clients tell us made the difference — so they are written down rather than implied.

01

Priced before we travel

You get a written price for the scope agreed. If we find extra work on site, it is quoted and approved before it starts.

02

Measured, not estimated

Readings are taken with calibrated instruments and recorded per unit, against the target they are judged by.

03

Reported in plain English

Reports are written for technicians, estates managers and auditors — not to make the engineer look clever.

04

Reminded in advance

We tell you six weeks before your 14-month examination falls due, so a certificate never quietly lapses.

Before and after

What changes when we take over your extraction

Most new clients arrive in one of the situations on the left. This is what the same lab looks like a year later.

Before

Sound familiar? It is the most common starting point we see, and it is fixable in one visit.

After

Where we work

Full UK coverage, one point of contact

We are based on the Merseyside coast and travel nationally. Multi-site organisations get one schedule, one report format and one person who knows every location — not a different subcontractor per region.

North West & North Wales

Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, Wrexham and the Wirral — our home patch, often next-day.

Midlands & Yorkshire

Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Sheffield and surrounding university and industrial labs.

South & South West

London, Home Counties, Bristol and the South Coast, scheduled in planned regional runs.

Scotland & Northern Ireland

Central belt, Highlands and Belfast, arranged as grouped multi-day visits to keep travel costs down.
