What we do

Four services that keep laboratory extraction safe and signed off

Most clients start with a fume cupboard test and stay for the servicing. Every visit ends with a written result you can hand to an auditor, an insurer or a head of department.

Testing & examination

Face velocity, containment, airflow smoke visualisation, alarm verification and a full thorough examination report to BS EN 14175 Part 4.

Planned servicing

Scheduled maintenance for fans, filters, sashes, sensors and monitors — booked around term dates, shutdowns and project deadlines.

Repair & upgrade

Failed fans, worn sash mechanisms, cracked liners, dead airflow monitors and inverter faults — repaired, or upgraded where repair is false economy.

Sales & installation

Ducted and ductless fume cupboards, fume hoods and replacement filters — specified for your chemistry, then installed and commissioned.

How it works

From first call to signed report in four clear stages

You always know who is attending, what will be tested, and what happens if something fails. No surprise invoices, no jargon-only paperwork.

01

Free consultation

Tell us how many fume cupboards you have, where they are and when they were last tested. We confirm scope and cost before anyone travels.

02

Site survey & schedule

We work around teaching timetables, clinical hours and production runs. Out-of-hours and school-holiday visits are standard, not an extra.

03

Test, service, correct

Measurements taken, filters and mechanics serviced, minor faults corrected on the day wherever parts allow. Anything unsafe is flagged immediately.

04

Report & next date

A per-unit report with results, photographs, remedial actions and the date your next 14-month examination falls due.

Who we work with

Labs that cannot afford downtime

A school science block, a hospital pathology lab and a forensics unit have very different chemistry — but the same duty to prove their extraction works. We test them all to the same standard and speak the language of each.

Ducted or ductless

Choose the right cupboard before you spend the budget

Filtration is cheaper to install and moves with your lab. Ducted extraction handles a wider chemical range. Here is the honest comparison we give clients on the phone.

Ducted fume cupboards vs ductless fume hoods

Consideration
Ducted
Ductless (filtered)
Building work required
Ductwork, roof penetration, external fan
None — plug in and commission
Chemical range
Broadest, including high-volume solvent work
Defined by carbon or HEPA filter selection
Typical install time
Days to weeks, project managed
Same day in most rooms
Running cost driver
Conditioned air extracted to atmosphere
Filter replacement and saturation monitoring
Relocatable
No — fixed to the extract route
Yes — moves with a refit
Annual duties
14-monthly examination, fan and duct service
14-monthly examination, filter status checks

Not sure which fits your chemistry? Send us your COSHH assessments and we will tell you plainly — including when the answer is “keep what you have”.

Client feedback

Technicians and estates teams stay with us

Most of our work comes from lab managers who recommend us to the department next door.

Six cupboards tested and two repaired in a single holiday week. The report told me exactly what to put in next year’s budget, with photographs.

Science technician · Secondary school, Merseyside

Straight answers about what our ageing units needed. We were quoted for two replacements, not eight, which is why we trusted the assessment.

Estates manager · FE college, North West

Our containment paperwork used to be a scramble before every audit. Now the examination dates and reports are in one place and always current.

Laboratory manager · Research facility, Midlands

Feedback is published by role and sector at our clients’ request; named references are available on enquiry.
